WASATCH HOLLOW COMMUNITY COUNCIL Wednesday, June 25, 2008, 7:00 pm Anderson Foothill Library, 1135 South 2100 East www.wasatchhollowcc.org The purpose of the Wasatch Hollow Community Council is to involve citizens in identifying issues, plans, and projects that enhance the beauty, safety, vibrancy, and retain the character of Wasatch Hollow neighborhoods, businesses, and historical and natural resources. The Community Council sponsors, supports, and provides a voice on such issues to governing bodies, public and private service agencies, the community at large, and any other organization or individual that may directly affect the vitality of the Wasatch Hollow area and its residents. State Architect from the State Historic Preservation Office, will speak about the basic principles and an overview of the steps that can be taken to retrofit unreinforced masonry homes against earthquakes, including anchoring the rafters to the top plate on the walls, the walls to the floor joists, reinforcing interior walls, and other steps to protect yourself against a major earthquake. More information about steps you can take is available on line. Our next meeting will take place on July 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Foothill Library. At this meeting the Open Space Committee will be electing a new chairperson. We will have a sign-up sheet available at the general WHCC meeting so that anyone who wishes to join us can provide contact information. | Anne Cannon | | 8:05 | Neighbors of the Gully 1.
