Wasatch Hollow Preserve Update

The Preserve is officially open!  Here are a few pointers from City Parks for accessing the Preserve and what is and isn't allowed there:

  • There has been a fence installed with 2 gates for access to the nature preserve and the creek.  No dogs may pass through these gates.  No dogs are allowed north of the creek and dogs may not pass the gates, or through the unofficial entrance at Kensington Ave.
  • This newly restored preserve is extremely fragile with its new vegetation, seeding, erosion control, as well as providing a safe environment for native wildlife who need homes there and maintaining good water quality. Dogs disrupt the process of establishing a preserve as well as maintaining one.
  • Map signs will be installed within 4 weeks, making the rules and boundaries clear.
  • The off leash pilot program remains in effect in the marked areas of the park.  Off leash hours are 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Please ensure that your dogs are under your control at all times, even when off leash.

Please adhere to these restrictions so that we may all continue to enjoy the park and preserve.
